Question 7

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?- I would answer this question with a filmed group discussion so everybody could give their own opinions about how we have progressed individually and as a group. Each member can talk about what they think they have personally improved on during the task.

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? This question is asking me identify the things I learnt from using technology throughout our main task, I can then go onto evaluate this too. The technology I have used throughout the whole production includes Cameras and editing software. I could answer this in a podcast as I will able talk about the range of technologies I used and talk about the positives and negatives.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?- To answer question 5 I will look at similar genres/films also target audiences of similar films in order to address my audience. One-way in which I could attract and audience to our film is by creating a poster as a form of advertising, which would be able to promote the product. Posters for films are commonly used along with billboard and bus advertisements. I will answer this question by producing a poster and then talking about on a powerpoint presentation.

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? For this question I am required to identify where it would be the best place to show my opening sequence such as in cinema, tv or straight to online streaming services and then reasons for why we would release our film there. To answer this question I will do a vlog as I think this way I will be able to answer the question thoroughly and give my opinion on where would release the film and why.

Question 2

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? This question is asking me how the characters in my opening sequence represent any particular social groups such as race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality and age. I could comment on how our film represents social groups through a mock interview with the main actress. As she is who we are trying to represent, so she would be best to answer the question in an interview style.

question 1

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? This question is asking me to identify how my final product is similar to real media products and how our film uses these forms and conventions. I could do a directors commentary to identify the different ways they are used in our film and use the film to refer to.
Main task Camera shots: I made a list of the different camera shots that could be used in my house for the opening scene. below is the list: Mid shot on desk High angle in left corner Mid shot in left corner Close up of door handle Extreme close up of radio close up radio on Birds eye view on top of stairs low angle bottom of stairs From this I then made a draft shot list that will be used for our main task. This includes 28 different shots in the opening scene.
Main Task: Characters/ Actors Our group is the same as our preliminary task. We decided as a group that Lauren will play the main character, a teenage girl who appears to be normal, as she is going out to do an everyday thing, a run, but comes across the dead body, who will be played by Ciaran.
Main Task: Costumes Our main character is a girl going on a run therefore she will wear running leggings, t-shirt and a running jack as well as running shoes. This will make it obvious to the audience that she will be going on a run. The dead body will be dressed in plain clothes but will have a make up on their neck to make it look like they have been attacked.
Main task: Location In class we decided on the location for our filming. We wanted to use an isolated place such as a forest for Lauren to find the dead body. The opening of the scene we  wanted to use a bedroom and then film our character running through a village, to the forest. I went on a location scout around Yarnton to find the location I decided to use Church lane and the forest in yarnton.

Main Task Brief: Film the opening sequence of a new fiction film, including titles and soundtrack to last approximately two minutes.  In our Opening sequence we need to show understanding of what makes an opening sequence. To do this we looked at opening sequences from films such as  Candyman, Zombieland  and  Catch Me if You Can . We analysed the opening sequences and tried to work out what genre the film was depending on the connotations such as type of writing, soundtrack etc.
